Check-in was simple and easy. The host was very well prepared and accommodating. The tent was very well equipped with all the necessary amenities and comforts needed. It was spacious and comfortable. Absolutely loved our time at Little Africa and would have stayed much longer if we could have! The small size of the lodge meant the setting felt very intimate and personalised, and we found each of the staff members a pleasure to deal with. The drivers and tracker for the game drives were engaging and get you amazingly close to the wildlife- we were able to see all of the big 5 within the first 3 drives. The food also deserves a special mention- was home prepared according to personal preference and was delicious!

We had the best time at Phelwana! We’d really recommend staying at the lodge. We stayed in the tent and it was immaculately clean. Every morning we were greeted with different animals at the tent like monkeys, baboons, bunnies, deer and even a baby giraffe! The staff were exceptional, really friendly and helpful. Every member of staff went above and beyond for us to ensure our stay was excellent. We especially loved Jeffrey who made sure our every meal was amazing and that we had everything we needed. He even taught us some of his mother tongue language and we loved his jokes! Sly was an excellent guide who was so knowledgeable on our game drives. The game drives and bush walk were so cool and we saw so many animals like hippos, zebra, giraffes. The food was so nice, every meal we had was perfect! Inkomu swinene 🙏

One of the best places we visited during our three-week honeymoon, thanks to the kindness and attentiveness of the staff, the breathtaking views, and the sense of peace the place offers. What makes it even more special is knowing that your money supports a project with purpose, focusing on environmental sustainability, education and local community. One unforgettable moment was waking up at 4 a.m. to the sound of heavy footsteps, only to discover two giraffes right in front of our tent. Encounters like this are rare given the size of the property, but it shows the beauty of the surroundings. Even on your way to the lodge, you might spot some wildlife, almost like having your own private game drive. We also did a sunset drive with a guide, which was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend spending at least two or three nights here, with a full day dedicated just to relaxing in the lodge.

Bundox Explorer Camp in Hoedspruit provides adults-only accommodation with a bar and a shared lounge. There is a private entrance at the luxury tent for the convenience of those who stay.

Out of all our stays through our South Africa trip, this was the best experience of them all! The staff was exceptional. We had the best time on our morning and afternoon game drives. Having breakfast near the river where Hippos were sleeping, or snacks at a waterhole with a huge elephant family. We made the best memories. As an addition they took fantastic care of us, gluten-free meals were no problem at all.
