What a stunning location and such a friendly and kind family! The rooms are absolutely stunning and the location genuinely unbeatable. You do have to be prepared to walk up and down a large flight of stairs to benefit from that beauty but it is totally worth it. The hosting family were extremely helpful, kind and thoughtful. We would not hesitate to recommend this place to any traveller looking for somewhere off the beaten track!

The setting is marvellous. The staff cold not be more friendly, helpful and customer oriented. The cuisine is excellent. And the chef even went the extra mile to cook for us Sri Lankan delicacies, which were not on the menu.

The place is even more beautiful than the pictures. A very high level place even more than a 5 star hotel! The staff is lovely and very helpful, definitely the best service we received in Sri Lanka. The hotel has everything! Fun games for children, a pleasant pool, a heated jacuzzi, 2 saunas, a crazy gym and lots of other activities. It's a shame we only stayed 2 nights. We warmly recommend the hotel, we had a great experience there!

The Liyon Hotel was an excellent experience for my family. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very cleanly kept. The bathroom was clean and large, and the mini fridge in the room proved useful. The breakfast provided to us was exceptional and delicious. The hospitality of the hotel owner was commendable. The package is worth a lot more than what we paid, with such a good room and food for a very low price!

We really enjoyed our stay here, it was lovely to have the outside area by the rooms to be able to relax after a day exploring. We had meals here and found the selection of food and drinks great and food was always fantastic. We had our own tuktuk so found the location no worries. They were also fantastic at catering to our wee girl for meals / making adjustments for things she would eat. What really impressed us was the service from 1 particular person (I forgot to grab his name) he was outstanding - based in the restaurant down stairs but regularly checked on us while we sat outside and went above and beyond.

Our stay at Andriyala was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home. The beautiful garden surrounding the property added a serene and picturesque ambiance, perfect for relaxation. One of the highlights of our visit was the candlelight dinner by the pool deck, accompanied by a cozy bonfire. Everything ! The place is amazing. It is charged with history and beautiful. You will find books and board games everywhere to enjoy by the fireplace when the sun goes down. The gardens are a dream. There are very well curated and you will be able to observe the birds nesting in the trees. And the view ! There is no words to describe it. It is breathtaking. Finally, what we enjoyed the most was the service. We are used to travel in luxury hotels and the staff of Thotalagala have nothing to envy to the most experienced staff. The food was really good and every team member was very kind and thoughtful. They gave us a free upgrade, offered us so many little attentions that I can mention everything in this comment. They are knowledgeable and flexible, they care for every little details, they are passionate about hospitality and genuinely caring about people. And at the end, that is the thing that matters. They are the one making this place feels like home and we hope to be able to visit them again.
