The view is amazing, you can see the main church thru the balcony especially at night. We had a short stay but a memorable one.

With inner courtyard views, this accommodation provides a patio. The accommodation offers a hot tub, free WiFi and family rooms. Such an amazing Cave hotel. the people are friendly. The room was spacious, with high ceilings. the furniture and amenities all on point. the bed and sleep-sofa both were comfortable, while still also looking like a cave <3 The room also comes with 2 giant moisture guards that keep the room nice. they make noise but can be switched off when going to sleep. Be sure to expect some humidity as it is a cave, this is not a negative point to me as it is logical but it appears not everyone was prepared for it haha You order breakfast the day before. It is then delivered to the room in the morning at the time you choose. The selection was good and the food lovely. on a final note, the entire city and also the hotel is surrounded by slopes and stairs. Wear some good shoes and take your time to get your luggage to and from the place you are staying. There is a manned parking garage near the hotel on the Via Vena (Parcheggio Communbale Via Vena) (few min walk) which costs 20 euro's a day. good price!

The breakfast was delightful with typical Italian selections and alternatives to meet anyone’s needs. It’s hard to put your camera down even the bathroom is worth a picture. Overlooking Matera’s Sasso Barisano, Fra I Sassi Residence is set in restored 17th-century buildings inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site area. It offers a sun terrace and air-conditioned rooms with stone walls and views of the historical centre. Our stay was absolutely wonderful! We were able to easily communicate with the staff through Booking.com, and they were very attentive and accommodating. We had requested a cave room, and they kindly facilitated it, the view from our room was breathtaking, overlooking the stunning cave houses of the 'Sassi'. The room itself was comfortable and cozy, and the staff went above and beyond by helping us find the best authentic local cuisine to try. They also arranged taxi services to and from the main city center, which was incredibly convenient and helpful, especially given our tight schedule. The breakfast was amazing, featuring a variety of authentic savory and sweet options, we absolutely loved it! On our last day, we had a very early check-out, and the staff even arranged breakfast for us much earlier than their usual serving time, which we truly appreciated. The hotel’s location is perfect, with easy access to all the Caveoso and Barisano attractions. Overall, it was a flawless stay, we would highly recommend it!
