The dinner the owners cooked was so delicious! I wholeheartedly recommend ordering the dinner. The owners were very courteous, taking me in at midnight! The house was very clean with a good spirit. The location was a rural area, making it a perfect place to rest up for 2 nights.

Found along Route 1, this modern property is 30 minutes’ drive from Borgarnes. Facilities include the 9-hole Gianni Golf Course. All rooms have a satellite TV and free WiFi.

Lovely small hotel by the main road, very friendly staff and delicious food! Rooms were clean, bathroom is nice, with bathrobes and slippers to use for hot tubs, which are located behind the hotel. 2 hot tubs which you can use whenever you like. Small stream on one side and farm animals on the other. Might have to wait a bit to have free spot in the evening. Breakfast was very good, eggs, bacon, freshly baked bread, freshly baked sweets (muffins, waffles...), fruit etc. Coffee with options to add some flavored syrups (never seen this before in a hotel), tea, juice... Restaurant at the hotel for lunch/dinner. Expensive dinner, but worth the money, best lamb we had in Iceland and we tried quite a few. Homegrown animals (fresh meat), view from restaurant on the pond with ducks. We stayed for 2 nights and then drove straight to the airport (1h 40min drive). Did not go sightseeing in vicinity so cannot comment on that. There is volcanic crater to visit 5min away and some hot springs. Definitely recommend staying here!

Very clean and comfortable stay with an awesome breakfast. The staff here is amazing. We were stuck after a snow storm and they alerted us on the road closures and gave us an additional hour after check out for us to wait it out.
