Very beautiful and cosy place with astonishing views of kanchenjunga Himalayan peak from the property. Host and staff make you feel at home and serve you with love and dedication. This place is a bliss.

The Cedar Inn is more than a hotel, it is a place where hospitality and respect for local culture meet with tradition. The athmosphere is reflecting the fact that all revenues are used for charitable purposes by fostering the buddhist community. Breakfast and dinner buffet (with live piano music) are excellent and highly varied. Service staff and management are extremely polite and helpful. The setting is colonial style - keeping up the tradition of Darjeeling. It is the only hotel with colonial style in Darjeeling that has such fantastic view on the Kangchenjunga and such a quiet surrounding. The buddhist spirituality is reflected in several details, e.g. minor rituals and the decoration. We will come back to this hotel whenever we will go to Darjeeling.

A hidden gem, situated in Darjeeling

I stayed at Grand Casa for a day and honestly the stay was brilliant. If you’re looking for some peace and isolation, this is the place. The only thing is it’s a bit away from Mall Road, but trust me it’s totally worth it. They serve proper homely food and it was super tasty. I was lucky the weather was clear and I got the full view of Kanchenjunga right from the balcony. The room was also really spacious. Definitely a memorable stay.

The place is cozy and comfortable. Inn location is great, near to zoo- HMI- Museum, Mall Road. The owner and staffs are very kind and helpful. They made sure that the stay is comfortable, even arranged cab facilities for pick and drop and sightseeing with reasonable pricing. Great coordination from end to end!

Amazing hosts, very kind people, really tasty food.

Everything. The location was good, wasn’t too crowded. Parking was there with good wifi and the best part were people Sonam and his Aunt.

During our 5-day-stay in Darjeeling, my wife and I were looking for a budget-friendly accomodation that offers everything we need. With Asraya Homestay, we got much more than that. The owner is extremely polite, attentive and caring, while also being very professional and respectful of the guests wishes. The homestay is very new, and accordingly the rooms are freshly renovated, clean and modern. We considered the bathroom with its modern, fresh look and state-of-the-art appliances and the balcony with its amazing view the highlights of the room - and you get all that without putting a big dent in your wallet. All in all, we were very pleased with the room. The only thing that we considered a smal downside was that the temperature in the room was a bit low - a heater is offered for a small daily fee. The hospitality of the host family is unparalalled- they are welcoming in a very warm way while also being open to deeper topics and discussions. What was most amazing to us is that if we needed anything at all, the host, Vicky, was more than happy to help us out with tips or by referring us to the right people. His connections to all kinds of different people as well as his in-depth local knowledge about Darjeeling really shines through here. Their homecooked, organic food is very tasty and was pleasing to our western stomachs due to not being spicy, which is rare to find in India. +A small kitten came to visit every morning :) Also, a big thank you to Sahil and Pratik, who are super humble, friendly and always ready to help. If we ever come to Darjeeling again, we will without a doubt choose Asraya homestays again.

We were warmly welcome by the host couple. We interacted personally connected well. Super comfortable stay and every minute need was vigilantly taken care of. The room in the homestay was clean and we'll maintained, giving amazing view of Darjeeling and Khanchendjunga. Mr. Navang made us feel home and was very kind to roam with us in Darjeeling to show and guide us about places to visit. The charm of this homestay is not only the beautiful traditional looking house, but also the kindness of the host.
