Family hotels and homes in Moyo Island

This property is a real gem. Moyo Island itself is a wonderful place to kick back, and the host, Gunawan, and his family went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. The rooms are rustic but that's what we were expecting, and power was available in the evenings to recharge the phones. The food at the resort restaurant is good and cheap, and the place is located a five minute walk from the ferry pier. Do be aware that cheap ferry transport is not guaranteed, on the day we went we had to hire a speedboat due to lack of other transport. But keeping in contact with the property host ahead of time can help a lot to find transport.

The staff is super friendly, always smiling and absolutely helpful! We stayed here after our whale shark trip to be close to the airport. It’s only 20 minutes drive to the airport, which we arranged at the hotel. The beach is beautiful, it has a lovely sunset view but unfortunately it didn’t seem clean enough for swimming. The infinity pool however is gorgeous, we had a swim during sunrise ☀️ Breakfast is generous, we had lunch and dinner here too, which were affordable and delicious! We regretted not booking the bungalows as they looked amazing! It’s also a good place to stay if you are planning to do a trip to Komodo island.
