My friend and I had the most amazing stay here. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are big and clean and the view is amazing. The staff however is what made this stay unforgettable! They are so kind and made us feel extremely comfortable. My friend was sick and they really took care of her, which we appreciated so much. One of the staff members took me on the most beautiful hike, as I didn’t want to do it only because my friend was too sick. Really an experience of a life time and we will definitely come back! Thanks for everything.

Very nice, family owned, place to stay. Good location for the main trails (cova and xoxo). Shops and restaurant are very close. New building, comfortable room. You wake up early with the light and noise, but this is normal everywhere in the island and is good to start your walk on time ;) Breakfast is great, every morning a different option. Great to start the day. João is a very friendly host, who will help you arrange and plan everything you need, we will be back!

A good location for a relaxing getaway in Ribeira Grande, LA MENOR is an apartment surrounded by views of the mountain. The property features a garden, bar and parking on-site among other facilities.

the host is one of the best person I meet in cap verde , the house is a really well located and the value of the appartement is maybe the best in sao antao ( you are near of the best beach and the best hiking roads ) , I recommend this place 200%.

A place to relax, calm down and experience rural lifestyle on Santo Antão. We were super happy to stay in the village of Monte Joana, away from, in our view, non-charming cities like Ponta do Sol or Ribeira Grande. Anita welcomed us at the place and Arlinda helped us via WhatsApp to reach the same. You could either take a car to Pinhão and get there by a short walk, or you hike up from the coastal road which takes about 1,5 hours, but it's worth. We chose the second option. If you have time we recommend to spend at least 2 nights, also to have chance of more interaction with the community in Monte Joana.

THE RETREAT in Monte Joana provides accommodation with a garden and a bar. Boasting a housekeeping service, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace.

We stayed at The Retreat in December and had a fantastic time. The Irish owner (we can’t remember his name) was really welcoming and did his best to make every guest feel at home. You can tell that he truly loves the island, his job and has a passion for hospitality. The meals in the evening were tasty and copious. Nothing was too much in terms of dietary requirements. Dinners were shared as a group which was really handy to get to know people and share experiences and best treks. On the last morning we were going back to the harbour and he gave us a lift. Thank you for a lovely time, we hope to be back at the Retreat soon as it was our favourite place on this beautiful island.
