It's really hard to express how superb this stay was. And it was only 1 day. I imagine this is thanks to type of the place, not being typical hotel, but rather traditional ryokan with it's quality.
From the beginning, the staff was excellent. Helpful, informative, easy to talk to.
The room, comparing to our other hotels, was huge. Sleeping on futon was our best sleeping experience during whole stay in Japan.
We have booked private bath, and again - everything well prepared, all important things available in the room. We were provided also with yukatas to be used in ryokan, but in addition we could also use more colorful that could be used outside.
Hotel is 5 minutes walk from main station and on the way to old town of Takayama.
The last but not least - breakfast was the best we had in Japan. We have chosen Japanese one and we could try many elements.

We loved everything. if you are looking for a traditional stay at a Japanese ryokan, stay here. Not too large and not too small, it was cozy and comfortable. The onsen was perfect and I definitely recommend getting the dinner and breakfast for the full experience.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Everything had been thought through and the room had all the amenities you could need. There was also a free laundry room. Friendly service. Great location next to the train and bus station.

You do not stay here for all the mod cons of a new hotel. You stay for an experience in an old-fashioned ryokan, a wonderful family running the place, a glorious onsen, and sensational breakfast. I've been twice now, and would stay again.
