We had a beautiful room looking out over the river and gardens. Our room had a private toilet and wash basin, with access to the public/shared onsen/bath. The hosts were very amenable and friendly. Highly recommend if you want a traditional experience of Japanese hospitality.

The INN was amazing. What a cool place to immerse yourself in. The beds were comfortable and the house was stunning. It is well worth the money to stay here. Great location, great host. We loved staying here.

The room was absolutely beautiful. We wanted a home feel for a few nights in the middle of a busy 3 week tour of Japan, just to relax and cook ourselves at home, and this was perfect. Walking distance to the old town, retro museums and train station, it was quiet and absolute bliss and the apartment itself was high end, with all fittings and furnishings absolute faultless. Would return and would highly recommend.

I highly recommend Tabino Shiori when you are visiting Takayama. We stayed here during the autumn festival in Takayama. The location is fantastic, super close to the shrine and all the festival events and markets. It is in the middle of all the traditional houses and streets and the house itself is super beautiful as well.
The hosts are truly amazing people. They are so friendly and welcoming. We felt right at home. They also provided the option to have a traditional diner upon arrival the first day. We did this and have no regrets. It was delicious and a fun experience.
The house was also very clean, there was a small kitchen and a very nice modern bathroom. I will definitely stay here again!

I cannot say enough good things about this property, it was amazing from start to finish and far exceeded my expectations. The location for starters is brilliant, right in the historic centre of town and close to everything. The traditional house is gorgeous, even nicer than the photographs and feels very newly decorated, all the detailing is beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and the house is very well equipped with nice touches like tea/coffee, water in the fridge, lots of toiletries etc. Finally the staff were so friendly and accommodating and we were able to check out slightly later and store our luggage while we waited for our bus. We loved our stay here and highly recommend it for a stay in Takayama!
