Featuring free WiFi access available throughout, Hotel Fabrica do Chocolate offers rooms in Viana do Castelo, a 6-minute walk from the Lima River. This is an exceptional hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was lovely with great attention to detail. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. A fantastic stop along the Camino.

The Hotel da Oliveira is within the historical Guimarães city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Guimarães Castle, the city’s most iconic landmark is 150 metres away. Excellent location, very comfortable and super clean rooms, breakfast is also very delicious with a good variety, staff very helpful and friendly

Situated in a 12th century Augustin Convent, the Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes overlooks Guimarães. Rooms are equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning and cable TV. 建物が素晴らしく、部屋の広さも十分でした。スタッフもとても親切で聞きやすかったです。 部屋からの眺めも最高でした。

Located in Braga, Tea 4 Nine Guest House lunch is served in the apartments. This self-catering accommodation features free WiFi. Super clean apartment on the first floor with needed kitchen equipment for make a light meal. The apartment is all white, which makes it easy to see that the apartment is very clean. There are bathrobes and slippers for when one gets back “home”, and dishwasher for cleaning the dishes so one does not need to hand wash. The bed and pillows are on the firm side (perfect for me). There is a small convenience/supermarket just a few steps away, and a larger one (Pingo Doce) about 5 min walk away (I am a speed walker FYI). The bus terminal is 5 min away (Google map says 7 min). All the “tourist sites” are near the apartment. Train station is about a 10 min walk (Google map says 13-15 min). Can’t comment on parking as I didn’t drive, but I saw parking sign near the square where the apartment is located. Margarida provides breakfast for the entire stay, so please let her know if there is any dietary restriction. I didn’t as I didn’t expect it to be a “complete” continental breakfast (bread, prosciutto, cheese, milk, fruit juice, fruit, water, soda and even a bottle of vino verde!). I am gluten/sodium/sugar free due to health issues, so it isn’t easy for me when I travel, but for future visits I would definitely let Margarida know about my dietary restrictions. Overall I really enjoyed this stay and would definitely stay here again when I am back to Braga!

Located within Guimarães city wall, in a manor house from the 18th century, Casa do Juncal combines history with modern comfort and elegance. Everything was amazing. As announced and shown in the pictures.

An historic home in Viana do Costelo where one can experience life living in a mansion with a huge dining room, Great Room, and rich and luxurious sleeping accommodations. The breakfast is wonderful and prepared to any specific requests. The host (Tiago) was extremely helpful with a tour of the historic home and recommendations for sights and dining in the area. The history of the Casa and Manuel Espregueira e Oliveira is well displayed in the reading room which is like a museum of the highest order, and the Casa has artwork and other features that made it seem like one is living the life of what is otherwise displayed in local museums. A wonderful and rich experience. A must do if possible.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the charm and warmth of this beautiful building right in the heart of the town. The location couldn’t be better, just a 2 min walk to the historic centre, the river, and plenty of lovely restaurants and cafes. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful decorated with a perfect blend of modern amenities and traditional touches. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, we slept so well each night.
