The property offers free access to its chocolate museum. The rooms were amazing, comfortable beds, huge bathroom and shower, and our room even smelled of chocolate! The hotel is close to restaurants. Amazing breakfast, anything you want you can have!

The Hotel da Oliveira is within the historical Guimarães city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Guimarães Castle, the city’s most iconic landmark is 150 metres away.

The air-conditioned rooms at the Hotel da Oliveira all feature a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer plus a flat-screen cable TV. The units also feature a minibar and some a balcony. All the rooms are individually decorated with themes regarding historical Guimarães personalities. The location, the ambience, and the staff make this my favorite hotel in Portugal. This was my second time staying at the HOOL. I will be back.

Located in Braga, Tea 4 Nine Guest House lunch is served in the apartments. This self-catering accommodation features free WiFi. The property is 270 metres from Biscainhos Museum and 1.7 km from Braga Municipal Stadium. Super clean apartment on the first floor with needed kitchen equipment for make a light meal. The apartment is all white, which makes it easy to see that the apartment is very clean. There are bathrobes and slippers for when one gets back “home”, and dishwasher for cleaning the dishes so one does not need to hand wash. The bed and pillows are on the firm side (perfect for me). There is a small convenience/supermarket just a few steps away, and a larger one (Pingo Doce) about 5 min walk away (I am a speed walker FYI). The bus terminal is 5 min away (Google map says 7 min). All the “tourist sites” are near the apartment. Train station is about a 10 min walk (Google map says 13-15 min). Can’t comment on parking as I didn’t drive, but I saw parking sign near the square where the apartment is located. Margarida provides breakfast for the entire stay, so please let her know if there is any dietary restriction. I didn’t as I didn’t expect it to be a “complete” continental breakfast (bread, prosciutto, cheese, milk, fruit juice, fruit, water, soda and even a bottle of vino verde!). I am gluten/sodium/sugar free due to health issues, so it isn’t easy for me when I travel, but for future visits I would definitely let Margarida know about my dietary restrictions. Overall I really enjoyed this stay and would definitely stay here again when I am back to Braga!

Casa do Juncal provides accommodation in modern air-conditioned suites with a flat-screen cable TV, and design furniture. The king size beds have down comforters and 300-count thread sheets. this was a lovely property and the room was huge and modern. it is very close to the old centre yet v quiet. breakfast was excellent

Located in a pedestrian street of Viana do Castelo city centre, Casa Manuel Espregueira e Oliveira is a renovated 19th-century townhouse with a 24-hour reception and an airport shuttle. Free WiFi access is available. I had no idea what I was booking when I had to find a hotel for one night lastminute while in Viana do Castelo. Had I known what a gem this place was, I would have stayed here for the full time that I was in town. It was beautiful, historic, and run by a team that you can tell really, really cares about hospitality. Everyone I met was lovely. The room was comfortable, quiet, clean and spacious, the breakfast was perfect, and the gardens were a lovely treat. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer to soak in the spirit of this place. If I have the luck of passing by Viana do Castelo again, this is where I will stay.
