Maybe the most important, the owner Leo is a great man who really took care of us, helped us with everything we needed and gave us very good recommendations. It was hard for us to leave and we hope to be back!

Free WiFi access is available throughout. The Diplomat is a beautifully designed boutique hotel in a wonderfully relaxed setting. From the moment we stepped through the door we were so warmly welcomed by Sara, Eric and their team and loved every minute of our stay. The welcome margarita was the best of our 3 week stay in Mexico (we tried many!) and our enormous room, which opened onto the pool terrace was simply perfect. Sara organised massages in our room on our first evening and her restaurant suggestions were perfect. We had already booked a guide (Raul Gil +52 999 157 9312) who, by coincidence, turned out to be the guide that The Diplomat used. He was fantastic and took us for a great day out to the Celustan, followed by visits to an old Hacienda and Uxmal (in our opinion a way better experience than Chichen Itza). The delicious breakfasts at the hotel were different each day and it was a treat to have afternoon tea!

Uber was also available for places a little further away. Many fantastic restaurants near by. Check out Bacchas wine bar next door. Great Italian food and good selection of wines.

Private car park nearby. We were upgraded to a room with a huge terrace with hammocks and great views. Will definitely come back.
