This was an exceptional experience. The Alte Muenze was the perfect location, the breakfast was good but the room was superb. We requested this particular room but they could not guarantee. We received the room and we were very happy. As we were checking in late, they gave us perfect instructions on how to receive the keys to our room, the parking area etc. Super helpful and friendly staff. A very idyllic and historic hotel - just positively different.

This hotel lies in the heart of Wernigerode, a 5-minute walk from the town hall and Wernigerode Castle. Schlossberg-Hotel Garni offers free Wi-Fi. The Schlossberg hotel was wonderful. The front desk was very helpful giving us suggestions on what to do and where to go. The breakfast was delicious and the wait staff was very helpful. I got the impression that not as many people from the US visit Wernigerode but I found the hotel and whole town wonderful. My husband is learning German so we were able to communicate though the staff at the hotel and restaurants had someone who spoke English. We arrived late and happened to be given the attic room - very, very large but it has a very narrow staircase to the third floor, so just take your time going up and down the steps. Super charming room, with plenty of space and great view. Very short walk to the castle from the hotel.
