Quirky and it suited our temperament. Close to Railway station and for places we wanted to visit.

We've been travelling a lot and have stayed in many places. Usually, I would not take the time to leave a review for a hotel where we only stayed one night - I don't have the time. However, this hotel stood out positively in almost every aspect (most other places had some really nice aspects, but also some issues) and was really good value.

Housed in an 18th-century palace, this hotel blends a historical setting with picturesque views of the Lousã Mountains.

A wonderful hotel in a beautiful historic building with a beautiful garden. We regret that we didn't have time to use the pools. We regret that we only stayed two nights. Delicious breakfasts. Wonderful dinners in the hotel restaurant. A good location for exploring Aldeas de Xistó, Coimbra, and Luso. Ample, free parking with easy access, bordering the hotel garden (it's worth unloading your luggage at reception and then parking). Perfectly clean and well-appointed rooms. Comfortable beds. We recommended it to friends who also want to explore central Portugal. We would gladly return ourselves. The hotel is 4 stars, but we felt it felt like a 5.

Excellent hotel with great food and spa

Located halfway between Lisbon and Oporto, this beautifully restored palace is set in the scenery of Bairrada vineyards and private gardens.

This is a charm hotel, with almost 100y, a time capsule designed to make us travel, rest and break all the stress. I think going on less busy days increase the rest, since can be busy at weekends.
