Sergeant House is a beautiful boutique hotel in a lovely renovated historic (colonial style) building. With its own private beach across the road and just minutes away from bustling Unawatuna, the location is excellent. The hotel is set back from the road in lush tropical grounds - road noise was not a problem at all. Chathuri is a wonderful host, so helpful with every request, and the staff are all great. The rooms are lovely - really spacious and beautifully appointed. Highly recommended.

The location of this property is magical. While it is just beside a very busy street, it is SO serene and you will feel like you are in a cocoon of serenity and tranquility when you stay at Era Beach. Beautiful hotel accross a picturesque beach. The rooms are spacious and so comfortable. The staff are super lovely and attentive. The food is beyond delicious. Was able to try traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Overall the best hotel in Sri Lanka. Totally recommended. I would rate it 20/10.
