The lake feeds into the smaller Lake Malombe and the Shire River, which is flanked by Liwonde National Park. Take a half-hour boat safari up the river to spot elephants, rhinos, hippos and crocodiles sunbathing on the river banks. Follow the Shire down to Blantyre, the country’s second biggest city, which is also within reach of some fantastic scenery. Take a Jeep tour in Majete National Park for more wildlife sightings, or climb Mount Mulanje, the tallest of Malawi’s three peaks to the east. Excellent breakfast, wonderful location with a beautiful garden, very quiet, you could hear the birds singing in the morning. I stayed quite far from the reception and the street, maybe that's why my experience has been so good.

Very good and safe location. The place very tidy and clean inside out. This includes clean and spacious rooms, clean bathroom no smell, not even of dumpness. The restaurant very clean and beautifully set. The food very nicely and professionally prepared.
The staff from all departments; i.e, Resception, Restaurant, provided us with first grade service, I've ever had.
I recommend AnnaVilla Hotel to whoever likes a quiet, clean place with exceptional service on the platter.

The property is very nice and has a beautiful garden and a pool (unfortunately I could not use the pool because it was too cold). The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I had an Asian meal at the restaurant which was delicious. Overall good value for money
