This hotel is the kind of place you'd see in a Jason Bourne movie. It has it all, Soviet building, burly security staff, cold war feeling and that je-ne-sais-quoi that makes you feel you left the western world behind. The place is situated at the corner of the Soviet House, at the end of the main street of Tiraspol. Although past its best years, the hotel is still in amazing condition. Very luxurious rooms, quality furniture, great bathroom and massive (like a mile long) corridors. The amenities are modern, the restaurant/bar/breakfast room has a great menu and is open pretty much all the time, the waiting staff is quite a sight (an army of savagely beautiful teenage girls). The reception staff is competent and diligent (Elena has been very nice and helpful). Breakfast is a royal buffet. Parking is available if needed. Prices are very reasonable by western standards. Note that due to the political situation, you're not allowed to pay with your credit card, the best way is to change your cash (Moldovan Lei, Romanian Lei or Euros) in the local Roubles at any exchange outlet that are open litterally everywhere.

We stayed on this hotel for a short business trip. The Housekeeper Madalina was really really nice and always there for help. She always called us a Taxi when we needed one and was also there, if any other things were needed. Also the room was full of new furniture and it also was very clean. Thank you Madalina. :-)

The first things which comes to your mind from the first moment is "hey, it's extremely well-though place!" I do not know who was the designer and who manages this hotel now but everything - from super-convenient access to underground parking up to the well-designed and well-stuffed rooms - is built and run by somebody who clearly knows his/her business. Add VERY friendly and professional (by which I mean non-obtrusive) staff - and you'll understand why I'm giving clear 10/10 to this place.
And yes, it's Moldova, so great food and brilliant wine are included in the base package.
