Set in Akureyri, 39 km from Godafoss Waterfall, Hotel Halond offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. It was super clean and in the perfect area. The facilities were ideal, I could do my own laundry in peace and make myself as many coffees as my heart wanted. This place is super modern and quiet, even in the second busiest Icelandic city.

Bed is very comfortable, shower a bit tricky to mount but good amount of water coming from it. Big room and there were coffee, hot chocolate and cookies self-serviced all day.

Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. Quiet, stylish and calm. The pleasant surprise was hot bath with a lake view and warm bathrobes. Breakfast was also good with a fresh home-made omelette (not very common in other hotels). Staff was very nice and helpful.
