Boschendal was stunning and we loved our Retreat Cottage for our family of four. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and the facilities were all beyond our expectations. Great breakfast with beautiful views. The wine tasting situation was initially not ideal because they seemed to be very crowded and stressed, but it all worked out in the end and they went out of their way to make up for it. The wine was great.

Situated in the countryside and surrounded by a lush garden, Travalia Guest Farm offers rooms and self-catering accommodation with a swimming pool and restaurant. Free private parking is available. A great stopover between Cape Town and the Freestate. The peace and tranquility here is amazing. Also have a great roadside stall.

Everything was spotless and fully equipped, both in the kitchen and the living area, so you feel at home right away. Communication beforehand was friendly, quick and reliable, and there was always someone available on site in case any questions came up. You have plenty of privacy and the surrounding nature is stunning with a small pond where you can watch animals. At night you get an impressive sky full of stars that feels almost unreal. Overall it is a very charming and thoughtfully managed place.

The house is very central and although we did not meet the host, the staff were there to hand over the key. Very comfortable home. Lovely courtyard outside to have drinks etc.

Very clean and beautiful furniture and fittings. We arrived on a very hot day and they had the aircon running for some time before we arrived, so the room was nice and cool. The room also smelled amazing.
