Featuring river views, Sunset View Self catering Cottage provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 7 km from Himeville Museum. All the animals made the place beautiful to stay. Waking up to feed the chickens and borrowing the dogs for a walk down to the river was wonderful. Virginia and John were great hosts, lots of helpful information, including a hand drawn map for the journey onwards. Highly recommend staying here, wish we could have stayed longer

Lolambazo Country House & Cottage - Giants Castle Drakensberg has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Mahlutshini, 41 km from Drakensberg Reserve. Beautiful and peaceful location just outside Giant's Castle reserve. Billy the host went out of his way to accommodate us with a request we had. The unit well equipped and had everything we needed, including firewood for our braai, which was a nice extra.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Highbourne Cottages is a recently renovated chalet situated in Winterton, 10 km from Monks Cowl Country Club. We stayed at Protea Cottage, which is well-equipped and comfortable. It's located at the end of the R600, near the entrance to Monk's Cowl area of the Drakensberg. You can access many nice trails directly from the cottage. The view from the porch is glorious, especially at sunset. Cathkin Park is a great location, and we easily filled our 6 days there. We went ziplining, hiking, swimming in the streams, horseback riding at uShaka, and saw the Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey show. We unfortunately missed whitewater rafting and the Boys Choir show. Leslie communicated thoroughly ahead of time about check-in and other details so there were no surprises. We also loved that it was off the grid, but with the solar panels, who noticed? The kitchen had all the necessary items, including a camp toaster and a French press for coffee. Lindsey and Brett don't live on site, but they stopped by a couple of times, and they were friendly and helpful. Their caretakers were there daily and kept everything in good order.

Situated in Nottingham Road and only 21 km from Fort Nottingham Museum, Springvale Farm features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. What a lovely cottage. Interior was gorgeous, everything we needed and incredibly comfortable. Garden was glorious and the kids loved the hot tub. Farm shop and veggie garden an added bonus!

Offering a garden and garden view, The Bunker is located in Champagne Valley, 30 km from Winterton Museum and 45 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve. Super convenient location and incredibly private. Wonderful views of the mountains. Unit is exceptionally spacious and excellent value for the money. We are already recommending The Bunker to our friends for any trips they may be considering to Drakensberg. Jo is very thoughtful and communication was excellent in all respects. Would book again without hesitation.

Set 10 km from Bosch Hoek Golf Club and 18 km from Howick Museum, Far Away Place features free WiFi and units fitted with a kitchen, terrace and seating area. Lovely spot with amazing views and great hosts. Highly recommended if you want to switch off and recharge. Also great for your doggies

Boasting mountain views, Thyme Out Weltevreden Farm features accommodation with balcony, around 13 km from Bosch Hoek Golf Club. All the small touches that made it extra special, the rusks, the flowers and of course the sherry!
