Quinta São Luiz asub Tabuaços, 19 km kaugusel Douro muuseumist ja 30 km kaugusel heaolu neitsi pühamust. The location was sublime. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the kitchen staff did not speak English so well, but the breakfast had plenty on offer but the coffee from the machine was not hot. Options for alternative milk options was on the breakfast bar but no option to have it hot. Cooked eggs are on offer. It is very plain. Pastries are good, variety of breads, meats, cheese and fruit.

The room was amazing, as were the surroundings. We loved it so much that we decided to stay another night. The hosts were fantastic and so was the breakfast. Great value! Highly recommended. I will also be telling our friends back home to stay here when they travel to Portugal.

We were looking for a hotel to celebrate our first anniversary, and it was important for us to find a pet-friendly place. We came across this hotel and immediately loved how it looked in the photos. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised — everything was even more beautiful, stylish, and authentic than we had imagined. We were so impressed by the quality: the bed was incredibly soft and comfortable, the bed linens were luxurious, everything felt like a true five-star experience. The towels were large and fluffy, and there were cozy blankets thoughtfully placed for guests to wrap themselves up while enjoying the balcony. They even provided sun hats for strolls through the vineyards — such attention to detail made everything feel so special. Waking up to the sound of birds singing in the morning was pure magic. It brought back nostalgic memories of childhood visits to our grandmother’s house in the countryside — so peaceful and heartwarming. One of the highlights of our stay was the authentic family dining room. Leonor shared a bit of its history with us, showing us portraits of her grandparents who once owned this quinta. It felt like such an honor to have breakfast in that room, gathered around one big table with other guests, like one big family — it was truly a unique and lovely experience. We left feeling completely recharged, having explored the beautiful surrounding areas as well. Leonor even sent us a thoughtfully prepared PDF with recommendations for sightseeing, lunch, dinner, and some local history, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We are incredibly grateful for this experience — it was everything we hoped for and more!

The hosts were awesome and went out of the way to make us comfortable- picked us up in town and drove us back. We had a rest day here on our Camino and it was very rejuvenating. We enjoyed the sunset evenings on the rooftop terrace. The wife even brought us rice pudding for a treat and a complimentary bottle of wine. Because the host was willing to drop us off and pick us up in Valenca or Tui, we were able to do a lot in 2 days.
