Ollantaytambo becomes a bit of a circus when the tour busses roll in; staying in this lovely property allows one to experience the town & the site when the tourists are gone. Villas del Valle Sagrado is set in Cusco, 21 km from Nogalpampa Stadium, 22 km from Main Square, as well as 22 km from Saint Peter Church. It was lovely to have our own villa of 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Gates were always locked and the caretaker let us in at all hours. We arrived at 8pm with no food and no Spanish but with google translate app the caretaker arranged for a pizza delivery and even got change so we could pay for it. Easy 15min walk or short mototaxi ride to main square.

Casa Cóndor Ausangate is set in Tinke and features an open-air bath. This country house features free private parking and free shuttle service. A comfortable place to get a decent rest before going to Ausangate. Felipe gave me everything I could have wanted and was always happy to sit down and talk with me while I ate.

Boasting a patio with mountain views, a garden and a terrace, Pisonaywasi - Hospedaje familiar can be found in Urubamba, close to Bus Station and a 17-minute walk from Main Square. We loved the calm garden and also the room and veranda. We got everything we asked for. It was a perfect place for calming our minds down in Urubamba. We slept very well!

Quiro's Valley House is a recently renovated chalet in Ollantaytambo, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. Nice and quiet with beautiful view. Full spacious kitchen and overall a large space for the asking price. Beautiful friendly family who made us feel at home and welcomed.

Offering a garden and garden view, INCA COFFEE Lodge Lucmabamba is set in Sahuayacu, 17 km from Huayna Picchu and 19 km from Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary. All of our stays along the Salkantay trail were great, but this one really stands out. First of all, it's a freaking coffee plantation! if you love coffee, this is gonna be some of the freshest morning coffee before a trek you ever could have. Let me tell you what an absolute treat it was to arrive there absolutely exhausted, just to see the biggest, comfiest beds, with fresh towels on them just waiting for our warm shower. Nibble on some local Peruvian fruit while you wait for one of the best dinners of your life, chug some water, and catch your breath within this calming, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were so lovely, very kind and serene. Beautiful view to open your eyes to in the morning as well!
