Situated in Paihia in the Northland region, Paihia Place Cottage - central Paihia has a patio. We liked the location and the rustic beach cottage. There was a great tip sheet for exploring the local fare and activities. We liked the private quiet setting. We felt very welcome with flowers and welcome sign.

Our cottage was perfect, as they all likely are, with a view out the fully glass wall out the back to a private deck and what can only be described as a tropical jungle with a multitude of birds. The comfortable bed faced that wall as well so you could sit up in bed and enjoy it. The bathroom was also exceptional with a great rain shower with lots of water pressure if desired. The kitchen had what you needed with a good sized refrigerator.

Situated in Opononi in the Northland region, Waiotemarama Falls Lodge has a patio and garden views. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. If you visit Northland you simply cannot miss this place. The lodge is huge and totally private on top of a hill overlooking the valley and the waterfalls. The hosts Candy & Rawiri went out of their way to show us around the property, including a creek nearby where you can spot the glowworms at night. It’s a gravel road driving to property from Opononi but it’s well maintained and suitable for 2WD. Spend at least a couple of nights there, you won’t be disappointed!

Tiny Home Escape w Sauna and Plunge is set in Whangarei, 1.4 km from Whangarei Art Museum, 1.4 km from Claphams Clock Museum, and 1.3 km from Town Basin Marina. Absolutely loved my stay at the Tiny Home Escape! The place is spotless, stylish, and packed with surprises. The gym access was perfect for keeping the routine going, and the sauna… well, it was almost too hot (in the best possible way). The plunge pool? Let’s just say it’s cold enough to make you question your life choices—then do it again because it feels amazing! With the weather changing every five minutes, it was the perfect excuse to rotate between both. And being able to jump onto the loop walk made staying active an absolute breeze. A fabulous tiny house with everything you need for a refreshing, fun, and energising getaway. Highly recommend!
