We arrived late in the evening so it was dark out, but what a pleasant surprise when we looked out of the window in the morning. We were there in September and it was really quiet everywhere. The apartment has got all you need, we were even able to cook a quick breakfast. It is clean and relatively spacious.

The place is really cozy and even has a fire place. You have to be careful with your head, because of low ceilings and steep wooden stairs, but that just adds to the charm. The location is also perfect, there are countless hiking opportunities in direct proximity and even the views in morning out of the window on the lakes and the close by mountains is quite pretty. Lastly, the host was very welcoming and nice and we can definitely recommend the stay.

We were just overwhelmed by the hospitality we got from Sigurd and Heidi! You can really feel all the hard work that went into building such a unique place and Sigurd has given very interesting insights into the story of Flatheim. We enjoyed a really delicious dinner in a cozy, old hut. Especially all the different tasty local food and drinks were a highlight, and also getting to taste the Viking cheese for breakfast (gamlaost). And on top of that being located in a remote, beautiful landscape.. We couldn't have imagined a better place and would have chosen a longer stay! Nestled in the Flåm valley just 3 km from Flåm train station and the stunning Aurlandsfjord, these cottages enjoy valley views from their porch terraces. So much to like! Great location, clean and comfortable. Well appointed. Everything we needed.
