A lovely experience that makes you feel like a true countryside local. The host made sure we stopped to get groceries at the local Supermarket, and offered us a ride from the nearby Train station. Tatami floors and shoji screen walls make this place feel full of Japanese tradition. A cozy nearby onsen (with snacks and drinks!) and small friendly bakery nearby really make this place feel special. I would love to come back next time I need a quiet escape from the city life.

A few blocks across the water and downriver from bus stop W15, with comfortable bedding and pillows, very quiet neighborhood at night. Everything you need at a great price. We were very satisfied with our three night stay here!

This is a lovely "beach house" in a rather "off-the-beaten-track" part of Japan, at least outside of high summer season. It's actually not on the beach but exudes that vibe and is only a ten minute walk from the proper seaside. Great sauna, beautifully clean, and easy access. The neighborhood is more traditional and lovely, but dining options are limited for those without transport.

UMI-IRO〜うみいろ下関〜 ligger i Shimonoseki och erbjuder boende med utsikt över havet, gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering, 3,9 km från Chofu Garden. The house was spacious and beautiful. The drinks provided were also a wonderful surprise that added to the luxury of the stay. The bedroom, and even the bathroom had beautiful views of the strait. I would love to start every day watching the boats with a cup of green tea. We were too late, but the sunrise is visible from the house!
