It is also in the traditional Japanese style, which we love! The highlights for us though were two parts: First, the host is incredible! You cannot drive up to the house because the last road is too steep so he showed us where to park near the base and then drove us up in his bigger car. (He kindly did this again in the morning when we left, even though we had to leave very early!) Second, the view is incredible! It was a stunning way to start the day. Our only regret is we wish we'd stayed longer :)

A lovely traditional house with all modern comforts. Beautifully clean and well presented. Great value. Tak came to meet us and helped with everything and gave us lots of tips. The house is spacious and scrupulously clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the bath is worth the wait to fill with hot spring water. We enjoyed the free snacks and instant noodles for a no fuss dinner. The Kawayu Onsen bus stop is a few meters away, making transport easy. Soaking in the river hot springs is a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again.
