This place is stunning and spacious - it includes a gorgeous living room downstairs as well as the kitchen and bathroom. There is another seating area upstairs and the bedroom. It is also in the traditional Japanese style, which we love! The highlights for us though were two parts: First, the host is incredible! You cannot drive up to the house because the last road is too steep so he showed us where to park near the base and then drove us up in his bigger car. (He kindly did this again in the morning when we left, even though we had to leave very early!) Second, the view is incredible! It was a stunning way to start the day. Our only regret is we wish we'd stayed longer :)

Traditional farmhouse experience. Extremely helpful and wonderful hosts with an amazing dinner. The cheese they make is magnificent. If you have time you’re welcome to visit the farm itself where the goats are in Winter as well as see how they make their special cheese.

Guesthouse Okagesan on puhkemaja, mis asub Hongus Wakayamas. Majutusasutuses on 2 Jaapani stiilis tuba, elutuba, köök, vannituba ja tualett. the host surprised us with a litle breakfast which was not prearranged. A very nice gesture. We had a lovelysupper in his restaurant nearby.

Situated in Katsuragi and only 25 km from Kishi Station, MYOJI HOUSE 2 Traditional Japanese Stay features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Loved the little house we stayed at in Myoji for our family Christmas. This was a traditional Japanese house and enjoyed the coziness and warmth the house had. The hosts were very friendly and accommodation, with lots of thoughtful detail in the house. The hosts provided so much information, good recommendations for local places to eat (highly recommend the local curry pie), gave us extra bikes, booked a taxi for us on our last day, and were so friendly and welcoming. The town of Myoji is very cute and some great little places to eat and visit. Would also recommend day trip to Kyosan - just beautiful.

Set in Tanabe, Cottage Kirihata is a recently renovated accommodation, 26 km from Kumanoshi Kiwakozan Museum and 28 km from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art. Everything was perfect. A lovely traditional house with all modern comforts. Beautifully clean and well presented. Great value. Tak came to meet us and helped with everything and gave us lots of tips. Beautiful location, car is useful.

Set in Tanabe, 23 km from Kumanoshi Kiwakozan Museum and 33 km from Kamikura Shrine, 一棟貸し民宿 川湯の家 offers air conditioning. The staff were lovely and very helpful before and during our stay. The house is spacious and scrupulously clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the bath is worth the wait to fill with hot spring water. We enjoyed the free snacks and instant noodles for a no fuss dinner. The Kawayu Onsen bus stop is a few meters away, making transport easy. Soaking in the river hot springs is a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again.
