A recently renovated property, 峠のお宿 巧の実家 Magome Guest House, Along the Nakasendo Trail is situated in Nakatsugawa near Magome Observatory, Magome Wakihonjin Museum and Toson Memorial Museum. When we arrived at the gare station a man (the son of the family) welcomed us warmly. He kindly drove us to a supermarket to buy some useful items (food, etc) for our staying and he would already send to our airbnb. Then he dropped us at the beginning of Magome path to be able to enjoy the walk to the house. When we arrived to the house, the mother and son showed us the house with all the explanations of use. They gently asked us which kind of restaurant we would have liked to go dinner. We were surprised the price of our stay included all the car transport. The family host was alaways available if we had an emergency. We were never in no need, food and drinks were full in the kitchen. We enjoyed the house to the fullest: comfortable beds, nice bathroom, the landscape was peaceful. All the rooms of this house were well presented with all the accomodations. The living room with the tatami mats was incredible with many toys, books. The decoration is authentic. There is a smoking area aoutside with an ashtray. Until the last day the father of the family drove us back to the gare station. We have so much great memories of this place along the Nakasendo road.

Loved having a house in a neighborhood! The outdoor tub was the best addition to our stay too. Having a fast washer/dryer was a plus too.

ゲストハウス にじゅうよん, a property with a garden, is set in Sakashita, 8.1 km from Toson Memorial Museum, 8.1 km from Magome Wakihonjin Museum, as well as 8.6 km from Magome Observatory. The host was very kind and showed me around the house when I arrived. Parking was easy and even though I was only there for a night, it had everything needed for a longer stay.

Offering barbecue facilities and inner courtyard view, 山水民宿 is situated in Takayama, 4.3 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village and 48 km from Gero Station. We felt like home here. The outdoor grill got plenty of use for hida beef family dinners. The tatami bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. The kids loved playing in the small backyard.

Set in Takayama, 1.4 km from Takayama Station and 800 metres from the centre, 民宿 和屋 offers air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a garden. The owner is super kind, we didn't expect the pick up but he had tried to arrange it for us even he was still busy on the date we've arrived. The room is big with 2 stories, 2 bedrooms. The location is not far from old town and just in front of beautiful scenic canel with many Sakura trees (but we were there in should season, so no luck to see Sakura by the canel. This room is super value for money.

Situated 1 km from Takayama Station and 2.7 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village in the centre of Takayama, 飛騨高山浮世絵INN画侖 features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The best accommodation we have ever stayed in! location, facilities & just so damn cool. do your self a favour and book here if ever in Takiyama x

In the Hida Takayama Onsen district of Takayama, close to Yoshijima Heritage House, Souwaan has free WiFi and a washing machine. A wonderful traditional stay! Can get an experience like this anywhere else

We had an incredible stay in Hida, and a huge thank you to Shingo-san for his exceptional hospitality! The house was the perfect mix of traditional Japanese charm and modern comfort—immaculately clean, thoughtfully designed, and in a beautiful, serene location. Shingo-san’s attention to detail, from helpful local tips to personalized touches, made our experience unforgettable. Highly recommended!
