The accommodation is stunning — all in traditional Tibetan style with beautiful wooden details, very clean, and so cosy. The large wooden beds made me feel like a Tibetan princess, and there’s even floor heating which kept the room wonderfully warm. The location is great, only about 5–10 minutes from the main square, but still very peaceful. The price is also very fair for what you get. The owners and staff are simply amazing — they helped us far beyond their responsibilities when we had a medical emergency, and we will be forever grateful. They truly care about their guests. On top of that, they make delicious yak milk tea, which you definitely have to try! It’s very cosy and welcoming inside, and as a bonus, they even have a super cute dog that made the stay even more memorable. This was honestly one of the best stays I’ve had — warm, authentic, and full of heart. Highly recommended!

This is a great place for those who cook when traveling, as the supermarket is essentially downstairs, just outside of the gates of the housing complex. The unit includes two washing machines and a place to hang clothes to dry. It has both a traditional squat toilet and a western-style toilet. It is on the sixth floor of an elevator building with two elevators. The view is onto the surrounding buildings of the area and the courtyard. As this is in Kunming, Yunnan, it is usually at a comfortable temperature, at least when I stayed throughout the month of August (which was also rainy at times). I was able to arrange transportation to and from Kunming airport with the host of the property, who oriented me at the place and gave me the key fob for the building. All in all, a seamless experience.
