If you are an astronomy enthusiast (which I'm too), this is a good place to observe the night sky unobstructed of light pollution. I could even see a part of the Milky way in the morning. There is an observatory nearby but I'm not sure if it's accessible to the public. The host is a kind lady who speaks English.

Tanja baked gluten-free bread for our friends and tinkered with the recipe each day until it was as good as the non-GF bread. Location was great for exploring hiking trails as well as Lake Mondsee. We arrived on public transportation and easily walked to / from the town center.
