Can`t thank you enough, arrived on the Friday,9th very tired and very heartsore, have lost my husband very unexpectedly exactly 5 months prior, to a heart attack, that came from nowhere. This was my first official outing on my own and the cottage was all I needed. Went to one of my best friends son`s wedding at Kay and Monty Vineyard on the Saturday , sadly she had died the year before my husband , so the cottage was such bliss and peace and nuturing for my sore soul. A beautiful region, with excellent restaurants. The Grootrivier and (Western Cape part of) the Bloukrans River passes are exceptional, as is Nature's Valley. The Birds of Eden is THE world leading bird conservancy -- the biggest anywhere with free flying birds in a magnificent forest with a beautiful kloof, waterfall ,,, The nearby Monkeyland and Jukani conservancies are also probably the best in Africa. Thyme & Again restaurant is also a favourite.

This is definitely not a family holiday spot!

This is definitely not a family holiday spot! It could, at best, be a backpackers lodge. The water in the bathrooms was brownish, and although there were assurances that it was healthy, we were sceptical. The rooms were tiny and barely furnished. The kitchen is communal and almost 100 meters away from the rooms - very inconvenient for those rainy days! What about the toilet and bathroom outside the rooms! We had surely booked the wrong place, and stayed only for one night out of four.

Its a wonderful place to stay, especially since it is 18kms from Plettenberg Bay, so its more serene than Plett over the height of summer. There is a lot to do in the vicinity. We loved our visits to the elephant sanctuary (an absolute must-do), the wolf sanctuary, Birds of Eden, Tenikwa (wildlife rehabilitation), Jukani (wildlife sanctuary, especially for Big Cats) and Monkeyland. There's a super water park (Adventureland) about 19kms away, with fabulous waterslides. We made the mistake of not booking restaurants for dinner in advance. Over late December / early January most places were fully booked, which really limited our options and we spent a lot of time calling around, which we could have avoided. I would scout the restaurants and book well in advance next time.

Stunning surroundings and good location- close to wine estates nearby and short drive to Plett and Keurbooms. Very yummy breakfast provided. Lovely rooms which were well equipped, clean and cozy, with beautiful views! Amazing service by the host - very friendly and hospitable, and the website they set up is super helpful! It has recommendations of restaurants nearby/ things to do/ info about the accommodation etc. Would 100% recommend staying here for a lovely relaxed weekend.

Wonderful stay in a lovely cabin. We were given an upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The location is very quiet, no one else is really around and the view is lovely. Ben and the dogs greeted us on arrival and gave some suggestions for things to do and places to eat. It's an eco lodge so it is rustic which adds to the charm and is very clean and maintained. Recommend to anyone in the area and can get to Plett and Natures Valley quite easily.

Wonderful place with some of the best views in the western cape from your balcony. A lot of very nice hiking trails close by. Gert-Jan was super helpful with finding nice hikes and activities around and made sure our stay was a 10/10. Great quiet area if you want to relax but also tons of sanctuaries and other activities around. All in all a great stay 👍
