Wonderful property so well cared for and relaxing energy in the amazing gardens. When we arrived load shedding was happening which was perfect we went for a walk on the trail in the property and really settled into nature. We had read the cell service was limited and wifi at the cabin wasn't strong (it was absolutely fine I think they've added a repeater). But we decided to make it a screen free night and enjoyed the games they provided and had a wonderful night. Thank you for creating such a wonderful sanctuary!!

A Tranquil and Luxurious Retreat. My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at River View Lodge for two nights, a perfect getaway option. This hidden gem offers breathtaking views over the river and surrounding forest, and the sight of Knysna loeries swooping through the trees was a highlight of our stay. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the spacious and comfortable porch, taking in the serene surroundings. The outdoor braai facilities were excellent, with plenty of dry wood waiting for us. The house itself is a beautiful blend of comfort and understated elegance. The bedroom is spacious with a comfortable king size bed and a tranquil forest view. The bathroom had a roomy shower, decent water pressure and plush towels. The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. Attention to detail was evident throughout, from the high-quality furnishings to the thoughtful touches, like a selection of condiments – milk, sugar, coffee, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and honey – all provided for our convenience. The location was ideal for us – close enough to town to explore, but far enough away to provide the peace and quiet we were looking for. We truly felt like we were in the heart of nature, but with all the comforts we needed. We genuinely wish we could have stayed longer, and we’ll definitely be returning in the future. River View Lodge is a perfect blend of comfort, tranquillity, and luxury, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled retreat.

Absolutely beautiful place. so comfortable.. So much value for your money. Host, Colette is very friendly and ready to help with anything you might need help with. it is spacious, and has everything you need. comfy beds and spotless... the view... oh wow... the nature reserve and hiking trails, is a bonus. away from the busy town, yet close enough to take daily trips. So peaceful, loved the donkeys coming to say hello on the evening. Comfortable clean cottage and thé kids really enjoyed feeding the animals in the morning and we went running in their piece of woodland. The host went out of her way to help us organise kayaking.

This is a special place — the historical manor is every bit as impressive and charming as it looks on the pictures. The staff was friendly, breakfast and dinner fantastic. Our kids loved the pool, we loved the atmosphere and tranquility. There was an issue with our booking, but the staff found a solution that worked well for us. It is in the countryside, but only a short drive out of Knysna.
