Was a great adventure, Lodge facilities very peaceful and relaxing overlooking the water hole. Homely food in the restaurant. Roads need attention, but am sure will improve with time. Communal kitchen and braai areas had everything needed. Beautiful scenery, sunrises and sunsets.

Loved the fact that the accommodation or at least where we stayed is not even a km off the main road. However, it could help with the flow and control of traffic with so many trucks to have traffic lights at certain points in town.

We used as a stopover en route to Sodwana. In future, since we know what all there is to offer at this bed and breakfast, will try to arrive earlier to enjoy the amenities. Really well treated by all friendly and very efficient staff, lovely accommodation, breakfast was amazing.

As we travelled from Kosi Bay to Pretoria, Pongola was selected as a stop-over destination and the road to Pongola was perfect. However the road from Pongola to Piet Retief was atrocious - not recommended due to a large number of trucks and subsequently very bad and dangerous road surfaces.
