South Safari Lodge was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed on holiday. We felt so welcomed, comfortable and at home. The lodge was clean and beautiful, the food was delicious and everyone working there was beyond kind. Even more exceptional were the animals walking right through the property, the ease of booking a safari tour through the lodge, and proximity to Kruger.

I believe nowadays its difficult to give something a 10. But probably this place meets all the expectations. One of the best hostel I've ever stayed if not the best. Devon and Rene are such nice persons and the atmosphere that they have created it should be experienced. Game drives and common dinner. The location is perfect. Perhaps you can not feed Zebras in the morning everywhere:D It's more than a Hostel! Cheers guys, thank you so much. It was amazing!

Where to start… we loved absolutely everything! The room was wonderful so comfortable and perfect with windows to the wilderness and beautiful decoration, comfortable beds and everything we needed, the staff made us feel like home miss them already, and the food is a must, we chose traditional meals for our dinners and we where surprised, The chef is a star! Great location, right next to the world's most famous wildlife park. A real South African gem; excellent food and a super bar with a fire every evening; fantastic verandah with a too-die-for view of the Crocodile River; elegant safari rooms (with a heavenly scent) and amazing tub and shower. Definitely take the nature walk (I learned a lot and it was fun.) Hosts are wonderful--a lovely, very kind couple that think of everything and make you feel like you are part of a wonderful country. Will be coming back--bringing friends this time!

Marloth Park is large and has good facilities to support...

Marloth Park is large and has good facilities to support self-catering getaways. You can get provisions in the town and there are a variety of restaurants available. Ngwenya Lodge, about 10km away, has an excellent restaurant overlooking the Crocodile River with views into Kruger Park. There are viewpoints in Marloth Park where you can watch game and crocodiles on the river and look into Kruger Park. In addition, enjoy the local antelope that frequent the accommodation places and eat the game feed that you can put out to attract them.

There was an adquate number of restaurants.

There was an adquate number of restaurants. The shops were very sparing and contained basic goods. Security was good. The only downside was the additional time taken to get there because of extensive road works after Bombela (Nelspruit) and the inordinate volume of slow moving coal trucks going back and forth to Mozambique.

We are frequent visitors to Marloth Park. We love the close proximity to Kruger Park, The shops, restaurants, and water park are great, as well as the balance of quiet time we can spend in the bush watching the animals.

We had a good stay at Needles Lodge in Marloth Park. The setting is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with wildlife often visible right from the deck. The staff were friendly, and the lodge had a relaxed, welcoming feel. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was consistently tasty and generous. Overall, Needles Lodge was a pleasant place to stay, and we’d consider returning—just with a different safari guide next time.

The kitchen was well-equipped. Plunge pool was fantastic to cool off in the afternoons. Rooms were spacious. The upper decks with jacuzzi and dining area...as well as the special viewing deck at the top were amazing. We were visited by wildlife everyday which was spectacular to witness up close! Getting there, the owner sent clear instructions about keys ans trash etc. It was all in all a fantastic weekend!
