Breakfast was delicious with a choice of continental or a cooked option. Plenty of choice across the board. A lovely light lunch was also served every day. Dinner was delicious, but one night we felt rather cold eating outside. The lighting was limited with only lamps, but this did add to the atmosphere. The game drives were wonderful with Chris. He was a knowledgeable safari ranger who used his tracking skills to ensure we got the best out of every drive into the bush. Wonderful.

The hotel itself was wonderful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner options were great and the alcohol prices were very cheap. Our room and the location exceeded all expectations. Each of our game drives were amazing, Stefan was superb at explaining everything we came across and kept us all entertained during the chilly mornings.

See advice about juice above. Location was gorgeous with live security 24/7. Also, the manager was kind enough to check on us via text as we drove back from dinner to the resort while a violent lightening storm was threatening wifi connections.

Close to home, easy to get there.

Close to home, easy to get there. Booked wrong room - needed self catering accomodation but staff could change the room - at a HEFTY price tag....... Needed more space in the fridge. Needed more tea towels in the kitchen. Mellerware and microwave is great. Outside shower is wonderful for people who like to shower, but weather needs to be right. Bath itself very narrow.

I liked the hot tub and relaxing and listening to the sounds...

I liked the hot tub and relaxing and listening to the sounds of the wildlife such as the Jackels calling and the whooping of the hyenas. Also, just the general sounds. There are also a variety of birdlife that come through. I enjoy the tranquillity especially in the early morning.

The room is tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds and beautiful linen. Spacious inside, well equiped and beautifuk bathrooms. The outside kitchen is fantastic, more than enough cutlery to host your neighbours and friends. Proper cutlery and crockery is supplied. The Boma area is fantastic, with all you need, honestly the owners thought of everything. We lacked nothing. PS Wood and Ice was only a phone call and 3 minutes away, anytime of day. The shop is well stocked with everything that you could have forgotten about. I can recommend this lodge to anyone needing a bush break, you will be pleasantly surprised Lastly, very central to Dinokeng with many activities and restaurants close by

It is a beautiful game lodge and very well kept, neat and has all facilities that we needed. The owner and staff are very friendly and always looking out for you and making it a very enjoyable experience.

Dinokeng Nature Reserve is beautiful and allows to easily...

Dinokeng Nature Reserve is beautiful and allows to easily spot the Big 5 and many other animals. Self-drive permits are available at reasonable prices. However, some gates were unmanned, so it was impossible to actually access some of the areas designated for self-drive.

Really short drive from Johannesburg, so great to be able to...

Really short drive from Johannesburg, so great to be able to visit the bush and see game without driving too far. We opted for self-drives and saw giraffe, impala, waterbuck, kudu, gemsbok, tsessebe, warthogs (right outside our camp), jackals, zebra and bird life. Was too short a trip.
