FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

It was quite windy, meaning some touristic hotspots will be closed: Tobben Island and Table Mountain close when the wind is a bit harder then normal. But still, architecture, the castle, the restaurants, nice hikes…. Enough to do

Our visit to Table Mountain was a great experience, The restaurants in Capetown were fantastic with great service and excellent food choices, the people were great and very helpful. We visited Robben island which was a fantasic experience and well worth the money, the harbour was amazing, we also went to Hermanus to see the Whales that is well worth the 2 hour trip driving along the coast. The Canal Walk shopping centre at Century City was very good for shopping.

Cape town is a beautiful city , took the sightseeing bus around the peninsula and had lunch at Simon's restaurant in Constantia, worth taking the buses as you see scenic route and do not have to worry about traffic. Kirstenbosch gardens also a very nice place do note you have to pay an entrance fee, South Africans to produce their Id documents or no entry. We ended off on the VA Waterfront and then to Mojo market in Sea Point, this place has an awesome vibe with food stalls and entertainment. We had a really awesome experience, thank you Cape Town!!

This place is property located near almost everything you would want to do in Cape Town central. A walk to the waterfront, near sea point and Camps Bay. We could also drive to cbd as it was near. All our boat cruises and the Robben Island tour were at water front which is very convenient because it’s a walk away. The property is clean, there’s someone to clean for you everyday which I found impressive for a self catering. I’m extremely happy with the level of peace and quietness there was.

We really enjoyed our stay at Xenia Aparthotel by Totalstay! The property felt incredibly secure, giving us peace of mind throughout our visit. The staff were warm and welcoming, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The internet was fast and reliable, making it easy to stay connected. Plus, the location is unbeatable—it’s so close to the V&A Waterfront, which made exploring Cape Town convenient and fun!

This was a nice boutique hotel which we stayed at the end our stay in Cape Town and the Garden Route. It was perfect for a night back in Cape Town before flying back home. We were able to leave our bags in the hotel without any issues whilst we did our last tourist activities before flying. It is the perfect location to see Robben Island and the V&A waterfront area. The staff were lovely and super helpful.

Great value for money, the staff was friendly and helpfull, the room had everything we needed (fridge, kettel and coffee, safe etc). The room was clean and cosy with crisp white linen on the bed. The hotel is excellently situated in Cape Town City Centre, 10mins drive from Green Point Stadium and Waterfront.
