Such a nice place! The family living there is so kind! They welcome you as a member of the family! They don’t speak English but use google translate to communicate with you! They’re lovely people! Thank you for everything!

This was one of the best, if not the best, hotel so far on this year's Vietnam trip. Great big room. Big bathroom with good hot shower. Everything you might need in the room. Fridge, water cooker, hair dryer etc. And the best thing is - it is quiet, which is unusually for Vietnam. In the evening there are light at the trees outside, and you can sit at the river and chill. Next door is a nice coffee shop with a green garden.

First, the facilities: absolutely beautiful traditionally built bamboo houses which come with amenities such as a hot water shower and clean water toilets. The house is surrounded by a tranquil well maintained garden that is hidden from the rest of the busy town that lets you relax on the various garden patios in peace. The place also sells e.g. Coffee, smoothies and breakfast, which all I found good. All facilities were in super clean condition which I liked alot as well. Second, the staff: they were incredibly polite and helpful. The lady working at the place speaks good english and knows a lot about what to do in the region, including bus transport, good restaurants, and sightseeing. It is also possible to rent a scooter for e.g. Daytrips. Personally I booked the scooter to go see Thac Ba lake, and it was one of the highlights of my trip in Viet Nam. For me Yen Bai and the surrounding region were a great pitstop when travelling from Sapa to Hanoi. The areas are beautiful and the town itself is interesting for exploring for an afternoon / full day. It is also not visited by many tourists, which made it an authentic experience of rural Viet Nam for me (especially after the crowded Sapa). However, with so few tourists, there is not much information on anything, no scooter rentals on the street, and no tour guides. This is why I was so pleased about staying at Dinh Gia Trang while at Yen Bai; not only was the accomodation pleasant, but also the helpful staff gave me recommendations and guidance which unlocked the full potential of visiting the otherwise unknown region.

The place is amazing, full of personality and charm. The host and hostess were extremely welcoming and friendly and helpful. Our kids were entertained feeding the cute rabbits and painting figurines (the place is also a coffee shop and a painting school/studio so it has all the supplies). Dinner was family style so we got a chance to get to know our hosts and the others guest which was really nice. The hostess helped us with bus tickets, walked us to the stop and even checked up on us to make sure we got to our next destination safely. If we could give this place 15 stars we would.

A very charming place to stay, thanks in part to the beautiful works of art scattered throughout the building. Spacious, very clean, and beautiful rooms. A memorable dinner—that alone is worth the trip.

Tbis is one of the best homestay experiences I have had in Vietnam!!! The family makes you feel like a part their family offering you dinner, helping with anything you need and giving you ideas for the rest of your trip you might not have thought about in the North. I highly recommend Fish Farm Homestay, I had an amazing night with the family!!!

This place is simple, more suited for one or two nights on your way around Vietnam. As a motorcycle tourist this place was perfect for my overnight stay from Sapa to Ha Noi. The staff are fantastic, and will do their best to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable 😊 The cabin is stand alone so no neighbour noise which is good and there's a huge parking area. Locally you will find a few restaurants, convenience stores and plenty of helpful locals. I would definately stay here again on future rides.

The room is comfortable and private. There are 3 beds in the room. The towels are provided which is really nice. There is a bathroom with hot water. You can even do your laundry as they have a washing machine and a dryer. The owners are so friendly and helpful. They made me feel right at home and treated me like I was part of the family! The food is amazing! You can eat fish from the lake or vegetables and fruit from the garden (there are meat options available too but I don’t eat meat) Everything is clean and organic. Ha helped me with everything I needed she is really sweet. I recommend this place as it is really clean, quiet and affordable. You can experience the Vietnamese culture.

Mountain Breath Retreat is an amazing place to stay. The hosts are so kind and helpful and helped us with every emergency we had. They also recommended sights and restaurants in the area. I would happily stay here again!
