I have been visiting Thermop for over 60 years. I had relatives that lived there for the 1rst 1/2 of my life & now go to visit friends. In youth the water was fun for swimming & meeting friends. In my "older years" the healing content of the water is my reason for visiting Thermop. There is a free state ran bathhouse, as well as, the state park [which has a charge] & has a couple of large pools (1 inside - 1 outside) & small pools in both areas of various temperatures. Both places are clean & have life guards on site. The majority of the people who frequent the pools are very friendly; & each time we go for a soak we enjoy meeting people from all over the country.

Free state park with hot pools and free parking. The lady in the visitor centre was so helpful as she told us about the bison which were kept up the hill from the main park. You could drive round and watch them up close. Fabulous. She also told us about the Dinosaur museum which has the best fossils we have ever seen. It was brilliant. The Thai restaurant was very good too plus the craft brewery. Not many people around so it was perfect for us.

There are pictragliphs, museums, stores, good food, They also have hot spring tubs, ponds with Koi, ducks and Canadian Geese. Lots of walk ways thru the park and along the beautiful river. The town is very friendly and welcoming. We can wait to go back again.

In addition to having a soak in the Hotel's natural springs Hot Tub....a visit to the Hot Springs County Museum is a must. The Museum was a joy in explaining life in Wyoming through the last 150 years.

I did not stay long, but Thermopolis is a pleasant and friendly town. low to no crime and the Hot Springs complex is worth a whole day visit. I was there in the winter. In the summer there is a dinosaur dig quite close by. the shops and restaurants are very nice. The town and Hot Springs Park are within walkable distance of each other.

We enjoyed the mineral pool/bath. Hot springs and swinging bridge. Drove State Park and saw lots of buffalo. Wind River Gorge is a beautiful drive. We were there on a Monday and found some stores and eating places closed. We would definitely visit Thermopolis again. Lots to see and do, especially for families with kids.
