Sonora is a beautiful small town with many enjoyable antique stores. It has that small town feeling with very friendly people around. The small hometown restaurants have amazing and delicious food of different kinds.

Mercer Caverns was fabulous for our whole family, including our 9 and 2 year olds. It was our older daughter’s favorite part of the trip. After the caverns, we had tasty sandwiches for lunch at picnic tables under the canopy of shade trees at Murpheys Pourhouse. The beer was great, and they had good sandwich options for kids and adults. Indigeny Reserve, nestled in the hills, was a beautiful outdoor spot for a picnic, giant Jenga, and the ciders were the best I’ve ever had, good gift shop, too. We enjoyed a casual, delicious dinner at The Armory; our toddler loved climbing the stairs and watching the fountain while we waited on our meal. Columbia State Park was great and a delight, especially for our nine year old.

Great place for the entire family.

Great place for the entire family. Location is right on the heart of Tuolumne County. Rivers, lakes, hiking, off roading, antiques, etc. Whatever you are into it's probably here. Coffee at Alicia's and lunch at Andy's.

Sonora has really grown.

Sonora has really grown. Streets and Roads have changed and shopping malls have been added. If you want the Sierra small town experience, try Sutter's Creek . Jackson is nearby if you want need a Mall ...

Sonora is an interesting Gold Rush town.

Sonora is an interesting Gold Rush town. Several interesting historical locations. Easy access to Yosemite, Angels Camp. Several excellent dining establishments. We arrived at the beginning of the off-season so a number of museums were closed. The Fire Department Museum was very interesting and the docents were a wealth of information!

I liked the cleanliness of the room, the comfort of the bed, the breakfast was really enjoyable: the ladies working there are very nice and helpful, we can tell it's a hard job because people are in a rush in the morning, anyway, they had fresh fruits, oatmeal, waffles and eggs and bacon that were fantastic. The breakfast experience really added to the value of our stay. Also, the biggest plus when staying in the hotel is the location: it is next to the highway ready to go and past Sonora, so if you go to Yosemite, you avoid that hurdle

We really liked Lumberjack! As Europeans, we were excited to stay in classic American motel but renovated and with a twist. Room was new, nice and clean. It could be a little bit bigger but we stayed for one night only so we were fine. Location is also great, in the middle of city, and you have breakfast included in the hotel on the other side of the road, which is apparently affiliated/or owns Lumberjack. Also, if you love a superb ramen, it's right around the corner - Yoshoku was the best!!

The breakfast was awesome! The staff was great! The atmosphere around the hotel was lacking, the room was clean and tidy, but had a very low air conditioning/heating unit
