Soldotna is a wonderful town filled with friendly locals.

Soldotna is a wonderful town filled with friendly locals. The Kenai River is beautiful with the best salmon fishing! In the end of July there will be fish counts of 200,000 sockeye salmon per day coming upstream, so get your hook in the river and you are bound to catch your limit by lunchtime. So many coffee places and cool cafes like Lucy's Market in a quaint bookstore with incredible freshly baked bread and Italian-style press-grilled sandwiches!

The Soldotna Inn is centrally located between Soldotna and Kenai. It is an hour and a half away from Homer and Seward. The Kenai River flows through the city. Excellent restaurants, catering to all incomes, are springing up through Kenai and Soldotna. Nature is right outside your door. The Soldotna Inn is a quiet place to work or just relax. I found an unpretentious room at an excellent price, with a front desk that will aide me in directions, places to eat and things to do. This is the time to experience Soldotna in its growing phase. What else could I want?

Enjoyed the free music in the creek park, but thought the Alaska seafood food truck was very poor. Enjoyed Mainstreet Tap & Grill. Had great potato skins, beer and wine. Staff was super friendly, had a great time.

My room in August was 83° and NO AIR CONDITIONING, and the temperature outside was only 63° I opened the window, had a fan running around the clock, didn't help. Horrible night sleep. The bed was very hard and sounded like it was going to fall apart when I laid down & I'm not a big person 5'2" and 135lbs. Also right on a major street so I couldn't have the window open at night due to noise.

Soldotna worked well for us because it it @halfway between...

Soldotna worked well for us because it it @halfway between Seward and Homer and we set up multiple activities in both places. A Mama moose with 2 calves was around the house a few times and we got some great photos. Walking access to nearby Kenai River was as stated with understated local opportunities for trail walking and fishing.

Took a flight with High Adventures to see the bears at...

Took a flight with High Adventures to see the bears at Wolverine Creek. Our guide Ben, very knowledgeable and good sense of humor. LOVE this trip. Nice restaurants in town, very convenient to our hotel. Buckets for breakfast and Kenai Brewing Co. for great burgers.

You won’t find better value in the area than these cabins. Brand New construction - excellent mattresses and bedding - great communication - quiet location perfect between Kenai and Kasilof rivers - full of amenities - parking for my boat - surveillance cameras, free WiFi and laundry. Will be staying here again next year!

Room was a good size. Staff friendly. Nice to have complimentary breakfast. Central to where we needed to be. ie we had rental car and had to be back in Anchorage by certain date. Staying in Soldotna allowed us to get to Homer and back in a day.
