We used Rumford as a base to explore Rangeley and view the foliage. Most accommodations in Rangeley itself were quite expensive. But Rumford was close enough, and we ate dinner in a couple of good restaurants: The Lure, and The Brick & Stone.

Unit to the right of office.
Unit to the right of office.
Owner was nice to accommodate us with an extra space without extra cost since one of the beds broke.
The bedroom and bathroom lights are blown. One of two lights blown.
The lights are relatively dim.
Would be nice to be brighter considering LED lighting is much more energy efficient than incandescent lamps.

Our room was clean and nice and large on the ground floor with a separate entry which worked very well for us. It would be wheelchair accessible if needed! The kitchenette helped facilitate our food needs. Having a sink to wash a few dishes and a fridge to keep a bit of food cold is a big boon for our family travel. Very Good experience all and all. I Definitely would recommend this place to stay.

Rumford doesn't appear to be a destination for much unless you have specific business to do there. Birthplace of long-ago Senator Muskie if you want to check that box, but just another mill town (ND Paper), it would seem. It sure was quiet (okay, almost dead) the COVID Saturday I spent there.
