Very green and beautiful. There was a fabulous Arboretum that was free entry. The food choices are multi cultural and very good. There are children parks that are also lovely and well attended. The city for the most part is clean, great bar-b-q, beautiful azalea garden free to public. I was in Raleigh for a wedding at the Melrose Knitting Mill. There was an outdoor area in a beautiful setting with a pool/water feature, bar and seating all around the site. Raleigh is a very nice area to visit. Yes I will definitely be returning at some point. Hotel that I was at was right near the downtown area, not far from the shops and malls so there was much convenience there. Raleigh is the capital of the state of North Carolina, which offers lots of history and historical site. I visited the Martin Luther King Memorial grounds . Traveled to Raleigh for the Animazement Convention. We also visited the Raleigh Farmer's Market and gave ourselves a tour of NC State campus. We got take-out at Jack's Seafood and Soul Food. Raleigh was great there were ten of us total, in the Marriott, we got around town fairly easy, beautiful city, Mariott was centrally located. Parking was not easy anywhere as it was N C State graduation, but at the hotel, it is misrepresented, we were charged $15 per day in advance and you had to pay every time you left the garage or you could not get out, I ended up paying another 46.00. The restaurants we visited were upscale and beautiful, food was great!! Breakfast at the Hotel every morning was very nice and plentiful, and a great staff. I used Booking dot com. for my reservations and have yet to get a printed-out billing, had to pay upfront in advance, but the rest of our group booked right online with the Marriot and was able to get a copy of their billing. The cleanliness - bedroom, bathroom and towels are all very good. Room was cleaned daily with towels replaced, without having to call the reception. A special mention for the 24 hour coffee maker machine available in the lobby providing good coffee :). All staff were good - I checked in at 3AM and the process was smooth and also the receptionist helped to get a printout of my ticket happily.
