Our stay at Broadway Plaza Hotel exceeded all expectations. We stayed in suite #1201 with a stunning view of the Empire State Building and a balcony. Beyond the exceptional cleanliness and room details like the fridge, in-room coffee, and sofa bed for a third guest, what made this experience unforgettable was the kindness of the staff. A special thanks to Mr. Brandon and Lazzano at the front desk, and to the housekeeping team for their flexibility and helpfulness, from arranging room service to extending our stay and helping us book a Broadway show. The staff was warm, professional, and made us feel truly welcome in New York. The hotel’s location in central Manhattan, steps away from the Flatiron and 10 minutes from the Empire, is unbeatable, with everything you need nearby. Don’t miss the great Mexican restaurant, Mamazul, just downstairs. Highly recommend!

We loved everything about New York.

We loved everything about New York. We didn't leave the tourist areas but what we saw was interesting, great and memorable. I will admit i didn't have much faith that i would like New York but i love it. Summit one great 911 memorial was just beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Bleeker St Pizza yum. Canal street for the great tourist shops fun. Little Italy at Mama Marias restaurant outstanding. The Brooklyn Bridge, Staten Island ferry to see the Statue of Liberty we tried to fit everything in a week and i think we will need to spend at least another month there.

From where I stayed in Manhattan, places were easy to get to by walking, bike, or subway. It is a very friendly city for pedestrians. I am not an experienced traveler, but I found the subway system easy to understand, and it was affordable.

Breathtaking, but expensive. Use the subway or citi bikes. Be prepared to walk. It is a blast and you immerse yourself in the surrounds. We love the culture and expressiveness of the New Yorkers. Do and eat where the locals do. New York is your oyster, there is something for everyone, just look and don't be scared to explore!

I am a native New Yorker in Florida for decades.

I am a native New Yorker in Florida for decades. No question this city, despite its issues, is the heartbeat of the globe--it pulls you back in no matter how long you've been away. The people who work hard to earn a living here make it what it has always been. I love that NYC is a walkable city. Easy to get around. Thing to remember is that is is very expensive to eat here--you have to be prepared. .

I love walking, and usually walk a few miles every day.

I love walking, and usually walk a few miles every day. Manhatten IS walkable if, like me, you are pretty fit, plus it's almost impossible to get lost as it has a very logical grid system. If you're not very fit, then it has a good subway system which I did use from time to time. It also has a bike rental scheme that I saw lots of people using (but can't comment on ease of use as I didn't use it myself.) In my experince I found NYC friendlier than I was lead to believe it would be - I had some great chats with people! I cut my knuckle one day (caught it on something exiting the subway) and a street vendor make a great effort to help me with first aid - making sure I was ok. People being warm and friendly was the norm in my experience. My budget hotel was super friendly (The Carlton Arms - East 25th and 3rd Avenue in Gramercy). There is always something to do and something to see. Just a few of the things I did: I went to a comedy show one night at New York Comedy club (the Midtown venue) - which was great fun! I visited the Met museum (stunning - but make sure you allow at least a whole day) walked the High Line from Hudson Yards (really impressive and FREE), skipped going to the Empire State building and instead opted for The Edge - absolutely stunning views, a MUST. I went into St Patrick's Cathedral - a beautiful building to rival any English cathedral, incredible modern mural that is in keeping with the building. I went to Brooklyn (walked via Williamsburg Bridge) and got the very reasonably priced ferry back to Manhatten. On my last day I went to Queens and had the most amazing Tibetan food in Jackson Heights, and had Kashmiri tea in a little Indian cafe - New York is a truly international city. This was my fourth trip to the US but my first to NYC. I am eager to go again, it really is one of the greatest cities in the world.

New Yorker is basically hands down the best place in NYC for value for money and location for Midtown Midtown Manhattan. Nowhere else comes close in terms of price and location (without it being a dodgy hostel/hotel). It is not the place for you if you want luxury and to be spending loads of time relaxing at the hotel. It is clean / safe / its an iconic hotel. It does the job if you need a place to rest your head because you know you will be spending your time out exploring NYC. I have stayed there 4 times now.
