I was in New York to do some personal business.

I was in New York to do some personal business. I'm originally from there, so weren't many surprises. Didn't do any sightseeing, except the business I needed to take care of was lower Manhattan near the courthouses and near Chinatown, so walked around enjoyed that and had a great meal. The Lexington Avenue subway was nearby and ran fine.

The beeping of horns and waiting for white man on walk ways is something you have to get used to .. Watch out for the steam from the sewers it’s like the movies … smells of cannabis and hot dogs.. It’s very expensive for food and drink and some earn tips others just demand it.. We did uber, bus tour, boat trip, bus and subway so experienced it all.. subway was cheap and easy.. Celtic bar on Friday night for Sinatra singer..

Enjoyed our trip we were here 5 days and saw all the sights travelled mainly on foot and by subway - we found that we saw things off the beaten track that had we been on trips or hop-on hop off buses we would have missed. For example Highlines, and all the things in Central Park which we walked through - Highly recommend the 911 museum, Liberty and Ellis Island but book direct at the State City Cruises as these are the only way to get into the Statue of Liberty and into the crown, its also a lot cheaper than booking through agents. We ate and drank at local cafes and pubs around the city and even took in some roof top bars, the night-time atmosphere was fantastic. We felt safe walking round the city and did not see any trouble or experience any problems. The only thing which has put me off visiting New York again is the strong smell of cannabis everywhere as it is now legal to buy it from the many shops selling it.

I have been coming to NYC for years and each time I discover something new. I see several Broadway shows and go to various museums to broaden my cultural intelligence. I find new interests each time: in January I went to the Museum of Art and Design, the Morgan Library, the Drama Bookshop and revisited MOMA. This time I saw 3 plays, explored Central Park, bought a shirt at the Harley Davidson store, enjoyed the Bryant Park Christmas market and succumbed to Serendipity 3 hot chocolate. I have traveled with a few grandchildren at a time or various friends. This time I brought my new boyfriend. We were in heaven!

Compare to a few years ago everything is so expensive, if you travel October to December, most of the hotels price are astronomical. Still it's New York, vibrant, gritty and it's living city and public transport network is good, and walkable to almost anywhere. Eating places are so much choices from budget friendly to 5 star restaurants. Not for shopping destinations for my budget any more still I will go back to soak in that atmosphere.

I have been going to NYC for 76 years (since I was 7 years old). Central Park deserves to be a Unesco World Heritage site. No matter how many times I walk in it I find it magical. The food is outstanding. My favorite is Chinese food in Chinatown. Ground zero is an essential site to visit.

If you’re looking for a hotel in Lower Manhattan, Courtyard by Marriott New York World Trade Center is an excellent choice for its unbeatable location. Situated close to the World Trade Center, Staten Island Ferry, and several subway lines, it offers convenient access to the best of New York City. The front office staff deserves a special mention for their cheerful demeanor. While they couldn’t accommodate our request for an early check-in, they helpfully stored our luggage, allowing us to explore the vibrant surrounding neighborhood.

Good value for money for New York. Easy direct 4 stop subway to Times Square. We were a family of 5 and had a family room with 3 beds. Very compact with little luggage space but comfortable, very clean & modern, great shower, delicious coffee in the mornings and friendly staff. Shopping on Broadway a short walk away and loads of food options surrounding the hotel. Excellent bagels at a convenience store nearby which we enjoyed for a cheap & easy breakfast. We liked being away from the chaos of Times Square.

Location is in mid town Manhattan. For those wanting majority of the sights these are around times square. Having said that it was a 10 minute walk to Macy's and empire state building. We discovered the subway to get to times square and central park which was cheap, uncrowded and fast! Free bottles of water in reception each day and cookies and hot chocolate early afternoon were a bonus for the children.

Very quiet, cozy and pleasant environment, friendly people, cozy rooms, warmth and moderate comfort. In addition to everything, a comfortable and good bed, a closet for luggage and clothes. The room is small, but it does not create discomfort. At this price, there is no better place in midtown Manhattan. We spent eight happy days in New York and the hotel environment made the trip more enjoyable.
