New Castle is a great town. We didn't spend much time there on our trip, but it was central to where we went. We did the drive by tour of the old mansions, that was so incredible. And we loved Joseph's coffee shop!

I used a community group on facebook to get some ideas of local favorites. We were in the area to explore McConnell Mills State Park. We ordered from Pizza Man and enjoyed everything we got. We also stopped at the recommended Forbush Ice Cream and really enjoyed that too. Didnt get too much into the city but made sure to stop at the little Statue of Liberty, Cascade Park and the nearby Volant Mill which were also recommended by the locals.

We were only there for a short time for a dance competition. We only really went to Scottish Rite Cathedral which was very old and beautiful. The building surrounding the area are very old and historical as well. There is a lack of restaurants and no Starbucks which was a disappointment for a lot of dance moms-lol. It’s a small town. The surrounding areas are very “in the middle of nowhere where” feel. New Castle itself is fine though.

I’m happy on my stay , except when I received my credit card bill was higher than when I booked it last Nov 18 at booking.com. I have reached out to the front desk about this and still awaiting to resolved the issue. My reservation was 172 cad dollars, and I was was billed for 262 cad dollars.
