Memphis was a trip for my best friend's birthday.

Memphis was a trip for my best friend's birthday. Although I would never have chosen to visit, I still appreciated the easygoing feeling I experienced in Memphis. It reminded me of what Florida was like in the 80s. I enjoyed the history and the lack of traffic and crowds. If there weren't any cold seasons, it would be the perfect place for me to retire.

4 days was about right and the city was a cultural vibe as we expected. Be aware the if you like your wine it's very pricey! Also taxi fares were very expensive so beware. If you like Blues n Soul this is the place for you. Sun Studios is a must. Graceland was great ut also be aware the merchandise everywhere you go. Beale Street is a must for music all day!

Really enjoyed our stay, we drove around the city and its very clean and well taken care of. We walked alot in the down town entertainment area and went to a show at the local theater, and a couple of clubs, the music was free and exellent. the only thing I'd are not a fan of is the "RED parking areas do not allow you to choose a parking time frame and only allow a 30 for 12 hours (we did not need 12 hours) or 50 for 24 hours, the street parking is about 1.25 an hour if you can find it. NOTE: Memphis like a lot of cities you should know you surrounding and plan accordingly. I.e. don't go into the areas that are not for you. Security in the down town entertainment district is exellent, dont stay out past a decent hour (I.e. 12 midnight then it can get sketchy....

I loved Memphis!

I loved Memphis! The downtown area around Beale Street was so pretty and walkable. The Peabody ducks were adorable, and we also really enjoyed CMOM and the fire engine museum. The Memphis Zoo is one of the best we've been to. Highly recommend Memphis for family trips!

Great place to relax with love one's.

Great place to relax with love one's. And a great get away to learn. About the kingdom of Elvis Presley legacy. His life was amazing and powerful impact on America music. Now to this day artist study his style showmanship. To understand how to reach fans . Thanks to everyone who works hard to keep the hotel one of one. So feel free to join a environment with love , passion, Elvis Presley had for his fans, family and friends!

We were there on Monday and Tuesday but hardly saw anybody, day and night. It’s like where’s everybody? But Beale street was fun. And a couple of places like the Lorraine hotel and a park on Union street were a great reminder of the importance of protecting and fighting for human rights.

We came to Memphis as part of a road trip stayed just the one one night at La Quinta- location was ok- had a great night out!! the room was unclean pubic hair in the bath - staff not very helpful- we woke up in the morning to find our hire truck parked in the hotel car park that he cctv had been broken into two smashed windows the police attended and shared it’s a daily occurrence- please if you stay here do not park here. The staff did provide a cardboard box and tape for the broken windows- another guest there had his car stolen!

This was a nice hotel for a one night stop over in Memphis. Location was good, a few blocks walk away. The rooftop bar was exceptional, and actually made the stay at this hotel completely worth it, with wonderful views of the Mississippi river. Memphis itself is becoming less and less safe, at least that was our feeling, however the Hotel was a safe haven.
