This is a beautiful small town.

This is a beautiful small town. It has great old stone architecture and a beautiful riverwalk. It is in close proximity to many things to do, outdoors as well as indoors and there are some nice shops (I recommend the fair-trade store, Lucy and the Green Wolf). The town does roll up some after the summer tourist season.

Wind River National Park is good.

Wind River National Park is good. Evans Plunge Pool is nice swim unique and affordable. Nice historic town buildings. The Mammoth site is world class, very good. The China Wok restaurant makes good chinese food and good price, good enough for Chinese folk from Australia, if ask for extra chilli they can make it to Szechuan heat, NICE touch!

The smokehouse in downtown Hot Springs was fabulous I had smoked pulled pork my husband had the burrito they give you large portions. We loved the pioneer museum, if you like pioneer history go check it out. The mammoth site is a must see lots of history there. They also had a great pizza place one time we did a tswana had Buffalo meat, pineapple, meat the crust was homemade it was delicious. The hotel experience was great the staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions on what sites to go see. I would recommend this hotel. It was easy to find and get to.

Wonderful town and so much to see and do within the town.

Wonderful town and so much to see and do within the town. Visit the Hot Springs spa and the plunge. Climb the stairs in the town to the beautiful sandstone park. Visit the old school house, walk the main street and view the site of the original hot spring. Spend time at Moccasin Springs Spa, and don't miss Evan's Plunge for a different hot springs experience. Stop at the Kitchen Ink for an amazing lunch or any of the coffee shops in town. I could see living in this delightful town.

The mammoth museum was so GREAT- a must see a hidden gem.

The mammoth museum was so GREAT- a must see a hidden gem. Also we had lunch at Subway and the staff was exceptional. It seems odd to say that, but they were so nice and helpful. The area is beautiful, we will go again. The day we traveled the smoke from Canada fires was bad and in the hills.

we have been coming to HS for 40 yrs, there is plenty to see in the area, and Hot Springs is a good base. Its quiet and only a few mins drive to all the Black Hills attractions, and the Best Mammoth live dig in the world.

Quite run down, I was expecting it to be decent because of all the great reviews but it didn’t live up to the expectations. Staff didn’t seem very friendly or professional when checking in and the hotel looks tired, needs renovation.
