Gonzales is a charming town.
Gonzales is a charming town. I was a vendor at the Come and Take It celebration, and would highly recommend Gonzales as a destination for anyone interested in Texas history. The Chamber of Commerce is very helpful and provides recommendations for travelers based on their interest. The Jail Museum Director was also helpful and is very knowledgeable about the area. The Come and Take It Celebration was a great event, and had activities to meet everyone’s interest!!

Wonderful town, typical of south central Texas.
Wonderful town, typical of south central Texas. My favorite restaurants were the Stock Yard (especially for breakfast) and a delightful TexMex restaurant in town center. The mariachi music on Friday evening was a pleasant surprise. Love this town!!

The location was good, the room was good, the breakfast had a good selection. It was within easy access to places I needed to go, including places to eat and shopping I did to replace the items that were lost because of the staff at the hotel and another dishonest guest.

Didn’t have the breakfast, the view was ok, they were building in the lot next to the hotel, and the highway was directly in front of the hotel, so it wasn’t much to see.

Not so bad. Hotel is under renovation. No closet or closet rod to hang clothes. The cost should reflect that.

They ended up having bed bugs. Still waiting for my refund. We had to leave and find another hotel at night.
