Arrived after a long day of travel and hotel was burned down and no one from booking.com advised me. Stuck with two kids and two dogs with no hotel in a town that closes down at 7pm is not a place you want to find yourself. Very dark and lonely at night.

We were visiting with relatives although we stayed at an inn. Coudersport is a quaint small town with a nice common area. We ate at our relatives home so did not check out any local eating places. I found the parking restrictions odd. In the center of town anyway, one could not park for the night on the main street for the whole night. I asked a local why this is. The response was so the street could be swept. But every night?

A tiny oasis town nestled in the otherwise scarce mountains...
A tiny oasis town nestled in the otherwise scarce mountains and forests. Perfect as a pit stop for gas and other amenities, or even for a few nights stay (especially at the antique Crittenden hotel!). At night it can get foggy and the town looks like out of a movie, complete with a supposedly haunted house nearby. During the day, it's like a quaint mountain village reminiscent of small-town life. Also, conveniently close to many state parks including Cherry springs for stargazing. You're definitely in trump-country here but the townsfolk were very kind to us nonetheless.
