We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. It was wonderful! There was coffee and tea at the end of the hall near the elevators in the morning. We enjoyed the 3 fire pits outside the restaurant and gathered there with other guests. We met some interesting people. The food in the restaurant was exceptional. We ate there both nights, I had the seafood pasta and my husband had the swordfish. I also had a Caesar salad which was perfect, not too much dressing. The desserts and bread were excellent too.

Lovely stay, very clean rooms and staff was exceptionally friendly. Excellent dinner menu in quiet surroundings. Hope they add in the option for breakfast by the time I come back next year. Highly recommend

Owners Carol and Stuart and son Jonathan were incredibly friendly and welcoming as well as forthcoming for places to visit in the area. Hotel offers both traditional cabin style decorated rooms as well as more modern decor.

Loved This Place! Stay Here!!! Property Owner/Host Marcus is wonderful! He upgraded our room upon arrival. Great and helpful information on Idlwilde Inn's website regarding house and grounds, Watkins Glen. Check it out before you book. Beyond charming property, delicious breakfast, coffee and tea available 24/7, within walking distance from town (it is on a hill, so anyone with impaired mobility would need to take a car), convenient parking.

    The location was beautiful.

    The location was beautiful. You have a waterfall in your back yard and you can hear it inside the apartment. It is very peaceful to sit on the deck. There are several steps that you have to walk up to get to the unit so if you have trouble walking it could be an issue.

    Stivers Boat rental is easy and makes the trip fun.

    Stivers Boat rental is easy and makes the trip fun. Hiking is great everywhere Taugannock Falls was a good easy hike with great views. Toured Cornell and walked through the Botannical Gardens. And there is lots of wine.
